         <description><![CDATA[NAIROBI&#160;- A group that has kidnapped two aid workers with the French organization Aide Medical Internationale in Sudan's restive Darfur province has demanded a massive ransom for their release, media reports said Monday.

According to Sudan Media centre the unidentified kidnappers want 200 million dollars to release the French and Canadian citizens. 

The two workers were taken from the aid group's compound in Ed El-Fursan in southern Darfur Saturday night.

         <description><![CDATA[KHARTOUM - A member from the National Electoral Commission, Dr. Mukhtar el Asam, has affirmed that the elections will take place in vast areas of the Darfur region.
Mr. Asam said that the commission has the right to interrupt the elections in some areas if it is convinced that insecurity prevents the electoral procedures, in those areas.
He said that a delegation from the Commission headed Abel Alier will head to Darfur next week to asses the security situation in the region.
