President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan sends a message to Russian president Dmitry Medvedev

MOSCOW - President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has forwarded a message to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev. It was handed on Friday at the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and a representative of the Sudanese President – Minister of Finance and National Economy Awad Ahmed Al Jazz, who is visiting Moscow.

Opening the meeting, Lavrov said that he regarded it as a continuation of an intensive political dialogue between the two parties. “I hope we shall make a headway in the development of relations between our two countries both in the political and economic spheres.

Since your are the minister of economy and finance, your stand should especially promote the process,” Lavrov continued. “We understand, of course, that you are also a special representative of the Sudanese president, and we are willing to hear your opinion, considering this aspect.”
